Transition In Redcar and Cleveland, so far!
Redcar and Cleveland primary schools have invited the HeadStart Team in to talk to the Year 6 pupils about their transition into secondary school.
Change can be difficult for anyone, however, when you are 11 years old and you are moving into a new, bigger school it can be overwhelming. The HeadStart team has been working with pupils and their teachers to identify their worries and thoughts about starting at the new school, recognizing that the pupils are not alone with these worries and work together to find strategies and solutions to overcome these concerns.
The pupils have worked well and have shown understanding about how they need to be open to change and that everyone has fears and may make mistakes.
