Congratulations to HeadStarters at Acklam Whin Primary School who recently completed the Silver Award.
10 Year 5 pupils at the Middlesbrough school have been working on the HeadStarters Educational Pathway since the start of the academic year, becoming the first children to take part in the programme from their school.
Having completed the learning phase of both the Bronze and Silver Awards, Acklam Whin HeadStarters are now preparing to launch a wellbeing club at school during break times to give their peers the opportunity to learn about mental health and emotional wellbeing as well as providing them with a safe space to discuss worries or concerns.
The group have also been creating mental health=based board games from scratch that will be available for children to play during the wellbeing club to raise mental health awareness and to share a number of resilience strategies that can be used to achieve good emotional health.
