In recent weeks I have been given the brilliant opportunity of supporting children services through their ILACS (Independent local authority children services) Ofsted review. Throughout this I was tasked to deliver presentations on children and young peoples voice as part of my role as a young advisor for middlesbroughs voice and influence team for childrens social care. I took inspectors to meet young people we work with and young people living in supported accommodation for them to inform the inspectors of their views on the service.
During the school holidays, I helped to deliver the HeadStart Easter HAF. I was given responsibilities throughout the HAF that we had at Ormesby primary school. Our 3 day activity program consisted of such things of arts and crafts, football with mark proctor, cooking with a professional chef and much more. We had 36 young people attend on each of the days and received amazing feedback from the parents and children that attended.
Throughout the next couple of weeks we will be preparing for the last run up before our headstart conference on the 29 th of June, with nearly all of the capacity filled we are all looking forward for our children and young people across Middlesbrough, redcar and Cleveland to come together and learn how different aspects of life can affect your wellbeing.
I look forward on updating everyone soon on how our event went.
