Hiya All,
As we approach the wonderful festive break for Christmas, I thought I would update you all of some of the work I have been up to over the last couple of months.
In October I was given the wonderful opportunity to Co-Chair the Regional ICB youth mental health summit where I shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the health sector for the northeast. It was a pleasure to share the occasion with colleagues and meet the former Chief Medical Officer Professor Sir Liam Donaldson.
During the recent months I have taken an ever-growing lead on a project looking into further insight into the struggles care leavers in Middlesbrough face to write a report outlining my suggestions to the board around what the budget allocated should be used to support Middlesbrough on its improvement journey. I look forward to sharing my findings with you soon.
This academic year I have supported 3 schools to achieve as part of their Headstarters journey, with Kings Academy achieving their silver award in November and Park End closing in on their silver award.
A couple of weeks ago we held our second morning with the Mayor, it was a great opportunity for schools from Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland to come together and quiz the recently elected Mayor Chris Cooke on how he deals with mental health and then complete some emotional wellbeing-based exercises.
I will update you all again after the New Year
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Adam
