As we step into a new year it can feel like a good time to set new intentions, work towards new goals and perhaps let go of some unhelpful habits which are all worthwhile pursuits but sometimes we can put pressure on ourselves to be a brand new ‘you’!
Here at HeadStart, we agree that setting yourself some realistic goals and challenges is useful, resolutions can be a way to reflect and shift your behaviours to align with your values.
However, just a kind word from us that you don’t need to put pressure on yourself to change everything all at once, small consistent actions count! Self-compassion can help you be more engaged and productive whilst also be kind to yourself.
So just because it’s a new year don’t think that you have to be a new you!
This can lead to negative self-talk. Can you have goals? New hobbies or interests? Absolutely! But all we hope is that you aspire to be a kinder, healthier and happier version of who you already are!
You are already magic!
