Children’s Mental Health Week 2021
Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place 1-7 February 2021, the theme this year is #ExpressYourself .
It has never been more important to talk to our children about mental health and their emotions. We are all facing challenging times and sharing our feelings should be part of our everyday.
The theme Express Yourself discusses how being creative can make a difference to how we feel. The campaign encourages children to find a way they can be creative and do something they love to express themselves. We don’t have to be amazing artists to do this. Children are so creative and finding something that they enjoy is the important bit. It could be writing a poem or a story, drawing or painting, dancing or singing, creating animations or a short video, or dressing up.
Let’s get involved and challenge the stigma around mental health.
There are lots of free resources to be accessed, adapted and used for school online sessions or home schooling.
