HeadStart strives to implement systemic change around resilience and mental well-being in school communities across the South Tees area. It is an ever-evolving service and prides itself on being adaptable and proactive.
Recently one of the HeadStart team members in Redcar and Cleveland has started coaching Mental Health Leads in schools. Coaching is a powerful tool to support individuals to recognise their full potential, supporting the development and growth of the individual and improving performance and success within the organisation. Through coaching, Mental Health Leads can develop a deeper understanding of their strengths and areas for growth, leading to more effective practices and a positive school culture.
HeadStart will be providing coaching sessions to these Mental Health Leads allowing them space to focus on their strengths and allow them time to reflect on successes, thus developing motivation and pride in their work. These sessions will offer solution-focused coaching using powerful questioning to explore, understand and clarify goals and develop action plans. The coach will challenge the Mental Health Leads and allow them to recognise their opportunities and barriers in their role.
By investing in coaching, schools can cultivate a culture of continuous growth and development, ultimately leading to motivated and confident staff who feel empowered. For schools that are supported by HeadStart and TEWV in Redcar and Cleveland, HeadStart is seeking another coachee / Mental Health Lead to commit to coaching, if you are interested, please contact Julie, julie_wilson@middlesbrough.gov.uk
