Dear Colleague
Do you work in Education?
Use Healthier Together to Support School Attendance
Funding of up to £2,000 per individual school/education setting or up to £10,000 per multi-academy trust will be awarded to successful organisations working with families in the North East and North Cumbria’s under-served communities.
We hope to work with education settings to share our Healthier Together resources via the creation of Healthier Together Champions from their existing workforce, to share the resources and receive feedback on its accessibility.
Healthier Together is an online website and mobile application that can enable parents and carers to make informed decisions about accessing appropriate local healthcare services for their baby or child. If parents are unsure whether their child needs to be seen by a doctor, the easy-to-follow guidance on Healthier Together will ease worry and ensure people are signposted to the best service to provide help, such as a pharmacy or GP, or to self-care at home. It also ensures those who most need to be seen urgently are advised to seek the correct help. Healthier Together also has information for older children and teenagers to find out about issues relevant to them and how to access support. It is important that this is accessed by all our communities.
Healthier Together can support and promote school attendance with our DFE-endorsed, should my child go to school or nursery today page and provide staff with a trusted resource for health and wellbeing information that can be shared directly to parents’ phones by the website’s SMS-share functionality.
The funding will build capacity within your setting to support training for your workforce and to deliver activities from February 2024, to embed the promotion of Healthier Together as part of your ongoing day-to-day work in your setting. We will also gather valuable feedback from parents and carers as to how best we can enable their access to these resources.
Please submit your application via the link below by noon Wednesday 31st January and ask your potential Healthier Together Champions to hold Wednesday 7th February 3:30pm to 4:30pm for their online introduction.
ENTRIES TO BE SUBMITTED BY: Noon Wednesday 31st January 2024
Kind Regards
