Hello everyone,
I’m Adam the headstart apprentice and I would like to tell you about how my last month has been.
During the last couple of weeks I have enjoyed working with children young people on their return from the Christmas break around all things mental health.
We started our awesome bystander project with our two brilliant schools over the past few weeks where we discuss with children and young people everything knife crime related and what to do in situations that you become a bystander in.
I also was privileged to be a part of the morning with the mayor with five schools who questioned Andy Preston about the things he’s doing with Middlesbrough as well as completing mental health
and well-being related tasks after and before.
Before Christmas I was privileged enough to help out with our holiday activity fund scheme that took place at homes be primary school. This was a great opportunity to work with children and young people during the festive period.
I had the opportunity to attend the North East and North Cumbria Child Health and Wellbeing Network board meeting where I had the opportunity to learn more about the core20plus5 work as
well as the STAR program. I even got the opportunity to hear of some lived experiences of growing up in in the North east, using this to further my knowledge for the future. I will be sharing my story and experiences at the next board meeting which I am looking forward to.
I have enjoyed coming back after the Christmas period and look forward to a very successful year working with our children and young people.
Adam
