Hello All,
Welcome to my Headstart conference update.
Throughout the months of planning and preparing in the build up to our conference, I met up with numerous workshop providers to discuss how they were going to help our young people understand more about their emotions and feelings. I met with Teesside University staff to discuss the arrangements for the day and come up with a final plan.
Then here it was, 29th June! The 2023 Headstart conference was officially upon us. It was great to see so many of our schools and our young people across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland all come together to celebrate wellbeing.
That day for me was about me being resilient and trying something new, as I overcome my fear by standing infront of 260 people and delivered the opening speech of the conference. I spoke about the day, the workshops and introduced the special guests that were joining us.
Our conference was filled with lots of amazing mental health related workshops. Each workshop was designed to teach our young people about how so many aspects of our day to day life can affect our mental health, and how changes in our behaviours can be affected by our wellbeing.
I had an amazing opportunity to speak with local radio – BBC Tees to discuss all things Headstart, the conference and how people in the community can support their emotional wellbeing.
I want to say a massive thank you on behalf of the team to Teesside university and the agencies that delivered workshops on the day for making this event happen and helping it become a huge success.
I hope you all have a lovely break over the summer, and I shall see you all in September 😊
Thank you
Adam
Headstart Apprentice.
