Another great heartwarming story from our HeadStarters in Redcar and Cleveland, this time at John E. Batty Primary School.
These young people have recently started their HeadStarter training and took the reins to educate their school friends on managing mental health, demonstrating what they had been learning.
These HeadStarters have been keen about mental wellbeing right from the start. To join HeadStarters at John E. Batty Primary the children need to complete an application form saying why they would like to join and what skills they could bring to the team.
Their energy and skills shined through when they inspired younger pupils and the teachers by delivering a valuable lesson that focussed on coping with unwanted emotions. They empathised the importance of utilising breathing techniques, seeking support from friends and doing activities that bring joy.
Sharing these insights, demonstrated the passion these young HeadStarters have and their commitment to their school.
Well done to you all, you should be very proud.
