At, part of Middlesbrough Council, we’re currently looking at Community Learning Tutor availability from September onwards, and it looks like we may have multiple opportunities to deliver some of our bite size ESOL provision within schools, for eligible parents. Each cohort will work with us from 2 to 2.5 guided learning hours per week, for half a term, and have the opportunity to progress onto our full ESOL provision in Middlesbrough town centre. Parents must be Tees Valley residents, aged 19+ and be eligible for AEB funding.
If you have a demand for this within your school, please estimate how many eligible parents you could engage over the next academic year, along with proposed dates/months and your maximum room capacity. We are aiming to make this free provision go as far as we can, so please respond as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Learning for Inclusion available in Middlesbrough schools from September
Louise Sutherland, another of our Community Learning Tutors, specialises in delivering training sessions to support parents, within schools and community settings. We’re also planning Louise’s offer from September, which so far will include:
- Parents Together
- Managing Money
- Confidence Building
- Story Sack
- Healthy Lifestyle
- Assisting in an Emergency
These sessions run between 2 to 5 weeks, 2 to 2.5 guided learning hours per week. Louise is available for three teaching slots each week, Tues AM, Tues PM and Wed AM. Parents must be Tees Valley residents, aged 19+ and be eligible for AEB funding. For more information or to provisionally book a block(s), please email louise.sutherland@mcls.ac.uk or call 01642 811400. Please note, Louise is blind and has a support worker or a guide dog, so the space must be accessible and be easy for Louise to move around and evacuate.
