Hello everyone, I am Adam (Headstart apprentice) and this is my monthly update.
I started my month in Outwood Ormesby. We worked with a group of brilliant and very engaging young people in our TUFF TEES program.
I was also given the opportunity to go to ST. Edwards to start our Tuff Tees programme with the year 6 boys. I help and deliver ice breakers and other small activities to get the young people talking about all things mental health and wellbeing.
I was given the excellent opportunity to complete my restorative practice training on the 19th and 21st of October. This was really good for myself to gain this knowledge and be able to use it when its needed within my practice as well as other forms of commitments I may have that need such quality.
I am currently working with a bunch of young people across the northern region to create and advise a piece of research that will help capture the views and wishes of Children and Young People. The aim is to make great changes at a regional decision making level.
I have also been helping to create a piece of work in collaboration with Barnardos in relation to bystanders and developing work that will hopefully educate young people to become more resilient in there thoughts and make the best decision and identify when someone is in danger or may need help and support.
I look forward to continuing my work and improving key skills in Headstart.
Thank you
