It can sometimes feel like a tough gig being a parent and it’s easy to forget as a parent that we’re human too! It’s important to remember that ‘good enough’ is good enough.
As part of our whole school offer we deliver workshops to parents to support them in navigating some of the difficulties our children and young people are experiencing. We recently delivered one at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School to enable parents to feel more confident in supporting their child/children with anxiety.
The workshop covers:
- What is anxiety?
- What are the signs and symptoms of anxiety?
- Fight and flight response
- Coping strategies – what can you do to help your child?
- Helping your child to relax
Parents feedback outlined that they found the approaches covered in the session to be useful and overall they felt more confident about supporting their child.
“It reassures me about the techniques I have been using and has also provided me with new knowledge and tools to utilise.”
“Nicola shared a wealth of information, very interesting how the mind and body connect- physical symptoms of anxiety and I’m now more able to recognise this.”
“A very informative and relaxed session, thank you very much, this was great!”
