2022 has been a great year for the St Joseph’s HeadStarters in school. It has been the first year our HeadStarters have been able to be a constant support on the school yard, helping and supporting children across school, using their training.
The current Y6 HeadStarters have also been influential in helping to plan, organise and run fundraising and awareness events for school, raising over £1,000 for school and mental health related charities activities. Their input has not only been on their peers but parents, teachers and governors too. They have ran workshops and coffee afternoons educating teachers and parents. These workshops and coffee afternoons has helped to keep parents informed of the support available in school.
They are now looking forward to passing on the HeadStart baton to the next group of Year 5’s and helping to prepare them as part of their Gold Award by mentoring the Year 5 group through the initial training.
