That’s a Wrap!
The Redcar and Cleveland Schools are in their final week of HeadStarters and are celebrating the amazing work and commitment across the school communities.
This academic year 245 young people have achieved the Bronze HeadStarter Award and 301 have become successful peer mentors within their school achieving the Silver HeadStarter Award.
These young people have worked hard to understand mental health and develop their knowledge of emotional wellbeing. They are working within their schools to promote themselves and become embedded in to the school’s support services. Many of the mentors have delivered school assemblies, supported other pupils with friendship issues and worries and created activities for others to learn more about how to look after their own health. They will also go on to achieve the Gold Award in the next academic year by training up the next cohort of HeadStarters. John, Julie and Karen, couldn’t be prouder of the work all of these pupils have done and the incredible commitment they have shown to their school and to mental health. Keep up the great work!
James Woodgate, our colleague from Middlesbrough, will be joining the Redcar and Cleveland MHL Network this week to discuss how the awards are delivered in schools and the support the team offer including how your school could be on the road to Gold next year.
