Supporting children during their transition to secondary school.
We are now in the final term of the academic year and this can be quite a stressful time for year 6 pupils and teachers. SATs will be happening in just a few weeks and then all thoughts will be on September and starting a new school. Change can be challenging for many and it is important that children are able to express their concerns and feelings. It can be a positive experience, however, new experiences always bring questions. During this time it is important that pupils feel heard and have the opportunity to express their concerns. HeadStart offers transition sessions that help pupils share their feelings, recognise that others have the same questions and identify strategies to overcome challenges that they may face.
Throughout Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland, the team are working hard to ensure the workshops are delivered to all the primary schools across the area who would like them. If you still haven’t arranged your HeadStart Transition Workshop please get in touch with:
